Log file

The PDFLog class writes a log of the report processing (sections, data rows, page breaks) to a text file. The log is disabled by default: enable it only while testing.

Common errors

Invalid XML template - line L, column C: .. The template is not valid XML: check the tag at the given position. A common cause is the < character in a printif expression (write &lt;).
Missing XML node element [name] A required element or attribute is missing (eg. the coordinates of a box, the value of a barcode).
Missing required arguments [width,height or x2,y2] The print area of an element must be set with x2 / y2 or with width / height.
Unsupported XML content element [name] The element is not valid inside a content: check the spelling.
Unsupported XML section element [name] The element is not valid inside a section: a section can contain only id, page, print_content, section, var, output and comments.
Missing XML content element [id] A print_content element refers to a content id that does not exist.
Multiple nested sections are not allowed A section can contain only one nested section.
No data set found. Missing datalist or valid data tag. A chart has no data: check the datalist and, for a dynamic datalist, the id used with SetDatalist.
Recursive loop safety system activated A section is repeated without reading new data rows.
Placeholders printed as they are (eg. {ord.orderNumber}) The name of the variable or of the field is wrong, or the content is printed outside the section that reads the data.
